In the middle of May, a forest fire spread to the Alberta community of Slave Lake and destroyed close to 40% of the entire town. This destruction included the local library which many residents relied on for entertainment, community, and news. In response, author Colleen McKie has organized a charity auction to raise money for the rebuilding of the library.
Kathy was one of many authors who donated books or time to the auction. Her signed copy of Spider Bones raised $110CA for the effort.
While Kathy’s book has been sold, the auction continues Colleen McKie’s auction website and Kathy would encourage anyone who is interested to see what’s available and make a bid. There are still lots of nice pieces to be won!
