The Irving Public Library and its partners, Half Price Books, the Friends of the Irving Public Library, local school districts, museums, other local libraries, and the DFW chapter of the Forever YA book club, will host the first annual North Texas Teen Book Festival (NTTBF) on March 7, 2015 at the Irving Convention Center. This free, one-day festival will highlight Middle Grade (MG) and Young Adult (YA) literature by connecting our large reading community to more than 45 authors and their stories. The day’s festivities will be built around one central theme- celebrating our love of teen literature.
The NTTBF will feature more than 45 MG and YA authors split into 5 panels from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A keynote speaker will open the festival and it will conclude with an endnote speaker followed by a book signing party. On breaks between panel sessions you can participate in activities like the ‘Speed Date with a Book’ event- travel throughout a specified number of stations in traditional speed dating formula and, when the time limit for the event is reached, you may select one of the books you “dated” to take home.
